Introducing ForestServer  release 2.0

ForestServer20.Exe is a powerful tool for analyzing and mapping inventory plots on California's National Forests.

It may be downloaded at   ftp://svn.net/pub/users/thg and the program is free.

To start upzip the file ForestServer20.cab in a directory named c:\FIA.  Run Setup.EXE
from the Windows95 or Windows98 run Menu and ForestServer11.EXE will set itself up
on your computer (and can later be completely removed by Windows using Add/Remove
Programs in the Control Panel).

The program will set itself up on your hard drive per your responses to
setup prompts.

A dataset for the Sierra National Forest is supplied.  For free datasets for
the other 16 California National Forests please contact  Kevin Casey.  Kevin's
email is kcasey@fs.fed.us.  Note that names of datasets with 4 letter extensions
(e.g. *.traw) must be truncated (e.g. to *.tra) before import.

Maps of plot locations and background information is available at
