Hands-on experience at timber marking and cruising gained while employed as a Forestry Technician for the United States Forest Service and East-West Forestry. Have done both fixed plot and variable plot cruising.
Familiar with most California tree and shrub species. Skilled at finding remote locations by navigating with map and compass as well as air photos.
Can use and operate
PC and Macintosh computers. Recorded cruising data using Husky Hunter field data recorders, CMT data recorders, and a variety of GPS units.
Employed now for thirde season as a certified Inventory Forest Technician by East-West Forestry. We have established and remeasured Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) plots on National Forests throughout the state. Received FIA Certification and am currently a crew leader.
Employed by the US Forest Service as a Forestry Technician in the Lassen National Forest on the Almanor Ranger District (Summer 2001). Qualified Timber Cruiser certified. Skilled at implementation of silvicultural marking guidelines for timber.
Employed as a supervisor at Rite Aid Drug from 1989 to May of 2002, except for my summer with the Forest Service. Skilled at supervision of store staff which includes scheduling and
assigning projects to be completed. Responsible for the opening and closing of the store as well as bookkeeping. Am a dependable and hard worker.
Eagle Scout (1988) and Vigil Member of the Order of the Arrow (1987).
Oregon Category four Roadrace Champion (1992) also won several local (Humboldt County Area) road and mountain bike competitions.
Received mostly A grades in my forestry and natural resources classes while maintaining a 3.4 gpa.
